Built in 1904 for geologists and later used as an Austro‑Hungarian command post and field hospital, it now offers a cozy restaurant, hot water, Wi‑Fi and child‑friendly comfort. Managed by SUSAT with about 16 bunks, it’s reached via trail 603 from Malga Monzoni.

It is located in the Monzoni Valley, a side valley of the Fassa Valley. The refuge was inaugurated in 1904 in an area of high geological value, rather than mountaineering importance. Renovated in the 1990s, it retains its original cube shape.
