Managed by CAI Castrovillari, it was inaugurated in 2006 after restoring a rural school and offers around 20 bunks. Named for botanist Biagio Longo, it blends modern comforts—hot water, electricity, accessible by car or bike, child- and pet‑friendly—with a central location ideal for exploring Orsomarso’s wild trails.

Located in the Campolongo Plain, a wild area among the Orsomarso mountains, mostly covered in dense forests. It is the only refuge in Calabria and in the Pollino National Park. It has 23 beds and is open year-round, but by reservation only.
