Facing the Forni Glacier, near the confluence of the Rosole and Forni Valleys, the refuge was built in 1932, thanks to a donation from Giuseppina Branca, who wanted to commemorate her brother Cesare, a well-known and esteemed Milanese mountaineer of the time. Donated to the Section, it was inaugurated in 1933.
