Marenvollen is a great starting or ending point for trips starting from Røros. It is a day's walk from Røros when you follow the T-marked route over Skåkåsfjellet and past Raudhammaren. From the top of Skåkåsfjellet you have a great view of the mountains around Røros and you can look out over large parts of Femundsmarka. By car the cabin is easily accessible from Hitterdalen.
