- Facilities: Manson Hut rests at about 1, 230 m in Kaweka Forest Park’s remote “Manson Country.” Built in 1972 by the NZ Forest Service and upgraded by DOC in 2003, it offers six bunks, a wood‑burning stove, basic seating and untreated tank water (boil before use). Sheltered below a ridge yet exposed to alpine frosts, it’s a rugged but comfortable base for hunters and trampers.
