East Ruggedy Hut Guide

- Facilities: East Ruggedy Hut is found just inland from East Ruggedy Beach in Rakiura National Park, offering 12 bunks and a cosy wood‑heater–warmed interior. Managed by DOC, it lies only about 40 m above sea level and forms part of the rugged North‑West Circuit. Built in the early 1990s to replace a bivvy, it received a major overhaul in 2021 under the Jobs for Nature programme. Water must be boiled before use.
