Doughboy Bay Hut Guide

- Facilities: Doughboy Bay Hut lies at sea level on Stewart Island’s rugged southern coast, managed by the Department of Conservation. This eight‑bunk shelter, warmed by a woodburner and fitted with mattresses and basic toilets, serves trampers and hunters on the Southern Circuit. Built nearly two decades ago when the old Long Harry Hut was relocated here, it nestles amid rātā, rimu and coastal fern. Water must be boiled before use.
