Description
The summit is overgrown and does not provide excellent views; but there are excellent views NEAR the peak. It is always muddy and the hiker must crawl under scrub to reach the top. The trail ends about 1500 yards from the peak. Tourists must hike with a guide at a nominal fee-- bungalow or resort owners can find a guide, usually from Enimelin village or Enapkasur village. The mythical spot where the son of the Deity (in Tannese folkore) Karpapeng kneeled to mix kava remains preserved as two apparent knee imprints, near the peak. Ask the guide to show you.
