Mount Blackburn is the highest peak in the Wrangell range. It towers in relative isolation near the center of the range, while most of the other high peaks are clustered well to its southeast or northwest. Mount Blackburn is one of the few major mountains that was first ascended by a woman, Dora Keen, who battled snowstorms throughout much of her team's 33-day ascent.
