Mount Kazbek (Kazbegi / Mqinvartsveri) — 5 054 m / 16 581 ft · Seen from the upper lifts of Gudauri ski resort, this dominant, glacier-clad stratovolcano rises deep in the Greater Caucasus, near the Georgia–Russia border above Stepantsminda. From Gudauri’s high ridgelines, Kazbek anchors the northern skyline — a vast, ice-covered massif contrasting sharply with the resort’s wind-sculpted alpine terrain and marking the transition from skiable slopes to true high-mountain Caucasus geography.
