Scramble
Hochwand is a prominent peak in the Mieminger Mountain Range. The rock on the ?normal-routes? is not very good (exposed scrambling on loose rock). For the ascent it is recommended to take one of the North-face-routes. The North face of ?Hochwand? breaks down with over 1300 meter to the ?Gais-Valley-Creek?. The rock is better than usually in this range (Mieminger Kette), especially on the ridge-routes. Because the North-face-routes are seldom climbed and because of it?s seclusion in connection with the tallness of the wall, the routes are one of the big ventures in the northern limestone alps.
