Along the Minfford path route. Pre dawn look clear, Met office stated 80% chance of cloud free summit, in reality I was in cloud for half the walk. Steepest part of the route is the start, by the brook, to the beginning of the ridge above the lake. Thereafter, it is undulating and ultimately downhill after the Cadair Idris summit, towards the descent path. In thick cloud, route finding might be problematic at the point (Mynyd Moel) where the route turns right to begin the descent to the valley, as there are few distinguishing feature to use as markers. Met a team of path makers on the way down. A helicopter was feeding them stone to build the path.
