Walk up
Just to the west of Silverthorne, Colorado. This peak has an easier route on the eastern flank, but can also be accessed from the south, and west. The north face has been heavily eroded by glaciation, and a bus-sized boulder field makes acces difficult. Expansive skree fields and no marked trail above timberline give this climb tons of character. One of the best views of Summit County you can get to. Views include Peak one and the Tenmile range to the south, Mt Elbert and the Collegiate Peaks to the south-west, Red Mountain and the Gore Range to the north, and Gray's and Torrey's peaks and the Front Range/Continental Divide to the west. Lake Dillon dominates the south-eastern vista. Late-season backcountry skiing and snowboard enthusiasts enjoy this climb for turns well into June.
