Die Schmadrihütte liegt am südöstlichen Ende des Lauterbrunnentales am Fusse der Nord-West-Rippe des Grosshorns. Sie dient als Ausgangspunkt für Besteigungen des Lauterbrunner Breithorns, des Grosshorns, des Tschingelhorn oder des Mittaghorns, für den Übergang zur Gamchilücke und den Zustieg zur Mutthornhütte. Die Hütte ist unbewartet und hat 8 Schlafplätze. Sie hat eine Kochgelegenheit mit Holz, Netzabdeckung für Mobiltelefonie ist vorhanden, es hat elektrische Beleuchtung (1 Lampe).
