A starting point for the famous Schaligrat, the most spectacular stage on the way up to Weisshorn which makes climbers’ hearts beat faster. It is a simple, but functional high-altitude shelter without any luxury and one of the most exclusive sites of the Alps. Here you are among your own kind or even all by yourself. Due to heavy snow and ice melt the access from and east (Weisshornhütte) is not always and the acces from west (Cabane d'Arpitetta) is hardly possible anymore; traversing Schalihörner (normal access) is difficult and long.
