The newly renovated cabin with its historical character is surrounded by glaciers. The view goes across the vast expanse of Hüfifirn through Maderanertal and on to the Bernese Alps, while on the other side Tödi dominates the panorama. A fascinating natural phenomenon right in front of the cabin is the wind scoop or deflation basin. The cabin is the starting point for ski mountaineering, high alpine and glacier tours. It is accessed by crossing glaciers, except if you start from Linthal/Tierfehd.
