Auf der Passhöhe des Panixerpasses unterhält der Kanton Glarus eine Schutzhütte. Die Hütte liegt unmittelbar am markierten Passweg. Die Hütte ist immer offen und verfügt über Koch- und Schlafgelegenheit (ca. 20 Schlafplätze). An Wochenenden und in Ferienzeiten kann die Hütte überfüllt sein. Es ist wenig ratsam, mit Gruppen die Hütte zu belegen. Es sind keine Reservationen möglich!
