The cabin is in the thick of it: ice and snow, Blüemlisalp and Petersgrat, between Kandersteg and Stechelberg, between Kiental and Lötschental. The large stone building can only be reached by crossing glaciers. The rather surprising view goes to the right across Kanderfirn and to the impressive south faces of the Blüemlisalp range and Balmhorn, and to the left on to the Eiger. There is a small, picturesque glacial lake right below the hut.
