Walk up
Although hardly considered a peak, a fun mountain with a variety of options for outdoor physical activity for those who do not wish to travel far distances from central Massachusetts. Wachusett Mtn is the highest point east of the Connecticut river and south of New Hampshire. Panoramic views of Boston to the east, Berkshires to the west, and Monadnocks and White Mtns to the north. Hikes range from easy to moderate grades. Trails can be linked to accumulate moderate distances. Good trail running too. There are many trails to choose from, all are marked with blue triangles. Get trail map from park headquarters located on Mtountain Rd. in Princeton.
