Treskavica is very specific with mines. There are not many mine fields but they are mostly not marked and that makes it more dangerous.
The trails are safe and easy to find and follow but I'm not leaving them often before I come to the lakes, there is safe area and you can walk with no fear.
It sounds more dangerous than it really is, if you follow the signs and make nothing stupid this will be the hike of your life. I go to Treskavica 5-6 times per year and I never heard that someone walked in a minefield.
If all this sounds to much for you try with Prenj, Zelengora, Visočica or some other beautiful Mountain in BH.
