Walk Up
Stone Mountain is just another mysterious result from long ago when the Earth had a "molten burp" in the Appalachians of NC. Like Looking Glass Rock, Stone Mountain is a roughly rounded protrusion that proudly possesses a curving cliff line of solid rock. There are many technical routes up the steep faces of the mountain with some providing up to 600 ft. of climbing. Some areas atop Stone Mountain resemble a barren moonscape due to the solid and holistically smooth stone surface of much of the mountain. Whether you acheive the summit via the strenuous summit trail or a technical climb. Maxing out on this abnormal Appalachian protrusion is quite an experience.
