Mount Mansfield Climbing Notes

Tom Fowler from UNITED STATES writes:

12/9/15 Hiked up and down Sunset Ridge Trail to the chin. Used microspikes the whole hike. The trail conditions from the ridge to the chin were perfect for spikes, a nice hard snow crust with some deep drifts. The climb from Cantilever Rock up to the ridge was extremely icy, with sheer ice flows that the spikes didn't help a whole lot, so used trees and roots for hand holds mostly to maneuver up. Going down was slippery but no accidents.
