There are many trailheads and hiking trails on the mountain, not sure how one contributor missed them.
Check either All Trails or at Joseph Grant State Park. There is an entrance fee to the park.

There are no trails to the mountain as it is all private property. The only legal access is walking up Mt. Hamilton Road.
This mountain is better suited to a bicycle ride than a hike, because of the road.
