Arthur's Seat is situated in the Queens Park, also know as Holyrood Park. The park is near the centre of the city of Edinbrugh. Access is available to the public year-round although occasional restrictions may be in place due to events.

There are several routes to the summit and these are very well trodden. Care does need to be taken, particularly near the summit as the rocks have become smooth from visitors and can be slippery when wet.

Particularly in spring and early summer a local fog (called a Haar) can quickly reduce visibility. If this occurs any gentle route down will take you to the encircling road.

2nd August ascended this hill. My only advice would be not to attempt it in wet or icy conditions as the final scramble is over rocks smoothed down by all the previous climbers.
